At FYA we found that the further we stray from nature, the further we stray away from one another. In order to restore the much-needed balance on earth we must first begin by restoring balance within its individuals. This is because we’re currently faced with an issue where our young people are being controlled by the environment around them. This is through, television, games, school, music. Some of the behaviours that our children might inherit from a young age will undoubtedly influence their self-esteem and self-belief at a later stage in life. We found that children growing up in single parent families (Even children in many different homes) feel a deep sense of abandonment. For some kids engaging in anti-social behaviour is a way for them to replace the lack of love that they are feeling and experiencing at home.

What we have to ask ourselves is amidst all the pressures how can we go about giving our children the correct tools to pursue their dreams, love themselves and accept themselves and one another for who they are

The mission of FYA is the pursuit of the following principles:

  • Commitment: FYA wants to inspire pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and instil a sense of hope in the future.
  • Responsibility: The focus of FYA is to empower youth in establishing goals and following through on commitments.
  • Possibility: FYA wants to expand the perspective of young people to make them aware of life's possibilities.
  • Support: An individual is dramatically influenced by their support system. FYA wants to surround young people in a caring, inclusive learning environment.

Vision Statement- To make young people knowledgeable about the dangers of Knife Crime.
